The Society of Decorative Painters were invited to help the Smithsonian
Institute/Museum of Art – Renwick Gallery to decorate its annual Christmas tree.
Chapter members, Klaudia Durnin, Donna Talerico and Lita Ducote submitted Christmas Ornaments and were chosen.
Of the completed ornaments received, five hundred were chosen by a panel comprising SDP and Smithsonian staff for inclusion on the holiday tree in the Renwick Gallery’s Grand Salon. Remaining ornaments will be displayed on the holiday tree on view at SDP Headquarters in Wichita, KS.

Hurricane Sandy - Pay it Forward
These pillowcases were painted at our March meeting for the members of the Decorative Artist of Western Nassau as a Pay it forward gesture.
After Hurricane Katrina we were adopted by the Cactus Wren chapter from AZ. One of the things they did for us was painted pillowcases.

The delightful teacher/member,Gerry Rhodes guided us through the project. Everyone went home with a finished piece.
Nov. Project - Sweet Treats Banner
Members & Guest alike had a wonderful time painting this adorable little banner taught by member, Carol Hoffman. She not only taught us how to use Snow-Tex for fur but also introduced us to Diamond & Glamour Dust.
